With five basic ingredients, you can make this gooey apple pull-apart bread, which is delicious. This bread which is actually a desert is great for entertaining.
INGREDIENTS
6 frozen dinner rolls
1 Granny Smith apple, chopped
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted plus 1 stick melted
INGREDIENTS FOR THE GLAZE
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 cup powdered sugar
DIRECTIONS
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F, and spray a loaf pan with cooking spray. Place frozen dinner rolls on a plate and cover with plastic wrap about 30 minutes or until soft enough to cut.
- In a medium mixing bowl, dump chopped apples, cinnamon, sugar, and melted butter. Mix well.
- Using kitchen shears cut each roll into fourths and roll them into balls with your hands. Place 10 small rolls on the bottom of the pan.
- Dump apple mixture over the rolls in the pan, and drizzle half of the remaining melted butter over the rolls. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
- In a small mixing bowl, add milk to powdered sugar, along with the remaining melted butter and brown sugar. Mix well.
- Once out of the oven, pour the glaze over the apple bread and mix until everything is coated with a layer of glaze. Serve immediately.
For the Glaze
- Mix butter, brown sugar, milk, and powdered sugar. You may need to add more powdered sugar or milk to get the desired consistency.
- Pour all over the top of the bread.
