Cannabidiol oil, better known as CBD oil, comes from cannabis, and has been used as a natural remedy for multiple diseases and health conditions. Benefits of CBD oil include pain relief, decrease in anxiety and depression symptoms, improves sleep, anti-inflammation effects, and is supportive of heart health.

Before discussing the benefits of CBD, I want to clarify that CBD comes from a type of cannabis plant called hemp. Marijuana comes from the same plant, however CBD has no more than 0.3% of THC, the mind-altering part of cannabis.

Cannabis is nothing new, it has been used for pain relief since 2900 B.C., originating in Chinese medicine use. CBD may reduce certain types of pain, such as fibromyalgia.

A 2019 study on CBD and mood disorders found properties in CBD were effective in reducing PTSD symptoms. In a 2020 literature review on CDB and mood disorders, CBD properties were found to reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and psychosis.

CBD may decrease symptoms related to cancer and side effects of cancer treatment like nausea, vomiting, and pain. CBD may also in reduce the pain, and muscle spasms in people diagnosed with MS. I personally know of two people who had MS, that found the use of CBD decreased their symptoms.

Other neurological conditions that may benefit from CDB include Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, and related conditions.

High blood pressure increases the risk of heart conditions such as heart attack and stroke. People with high blood pressure may benefit from CBD because it impacts the heart muscle and assists with widening blood vessels.

Other possible benefits of CBD treatment include those related to treatment of substance abuse, treatment may relieve stress and depression in drug dependent therapy. A form of aggressive cancer, glioblastoma, treated with a combination of CBC and THC could prolong the life of those diagnosed with it.

As always, even with CBD oil being a natural treatment, side effects are possible. Some people have adverse reactions of diarrhea, fatigue, and change in appetite and weight. Additional side effects may be abnormal liver function, drowsiness, sedation, and pneumonia.

Considering the side effects of prescribed medications today, I would take my chances with the natural treatment, but y’all already know! My followers also know that if you are taking a prescribed medication, please contact your pharmacist who can advise you of possible interactions. The pharmacist has more knowledge than a physician when it comes to medications, after all that is their focus of practice.

I was discussing with my Uncle Rollen this morning my go to treatment for sinus congestion which I woke up with. I will share it with you. As a child we never went to the doctor, my parents, one with roots in Arkansas and the other with roots in North Carolina, had knowledge of natural treatments and remedies passed down through the ages.

For any type of head cold or sinus congestion, simply bring a large pot of water to a rapid boil, cover your head with a large towel and inhale the steam. Relief with no side effects!!!

Until next time,

Peace, Love, and Blessings ❤️
