Turmeric and Ginger Tea Recipe

  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated turmeric root (if using dried turmeric, 1/3 tsp.)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger root (or 1/ tsp. dried ginger)
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • raw honey and a slice of lemon to taste

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring a cup of water to boil. Turn off the heat and add the turmeric and ginger.
  2. Steep with the lid on for 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea, and add honey when the tea has cooled down (excessive heat destroys the health benefits of honey).
  4. Add the black pepper and stir well.

Turmeric Tea Recipe

  • put 1-2 teaspoons fresh turmeric root or 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder in a cup.
  • Fill with boiling water, cover and let infuse for 5 minutes.
  • Add 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  • Add raw honey and lemon when the tea has cooled.
  • Drink a cup a day to help reduce inflammation.

You may choose to make ginger tea as well, follow the turmeric recipe, but replace ginger for turmeric. Also leave out the black pepper.
