I intended to post a Happy Thanksgiving message but after viewing a news clip this morning, I knew that would not be the case. The episode brought tears to my eyes, of course, those of you that truly know me are aware of the fact that doesn’t take much. The episode was entitled gratitude and told the story of two young men who were adopted by an American family after being found wandering the streets in Sierra Leone homeless.
The family was celebrating the youngest child’s 13th birthday. The Mom brought a cake into the room, candles lit, and the family broke into the Happy Birthday song. The young man broke down and burst into tears when the reporter asked why he replied he had never celebrated his birthday. He was grateful that someone would do something just for him, to honor him.
Something so small that we take for granted, a birthday cake, filled him with gratefulness. We take so much for granted in our environment. A birthday cake is something we have grown to expect, and many of us would cop a tude if there wasn’t one, lol. On the serious side, what are you grateful for? In the past ten years I have learned to practice gratitude, I feel getting older has had something to do with that.
Every day I express gratitude for something, take some time during this season of thanks to think about some of the things in your life you are grateful for, and give thanks.
If you took the time today as many of you are with family and friends to read this Blog, I give gratitude to you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING🦃
Love, Peace, and Blessings to you all💝
The kids and I did twelve consecutive days of thanks and it was very informative to seeing the things they were most thankful for. All of us included family. I was most thankful for the technology that let’s us stay in touch though we’re scattered from coast to coast . Love you fam.
Love you more❤️
I also saw that program, the young boy called the cake a Blessing cake. Thankful to you also for your words of wisdom and great recipes! 👏🏾
You are most welcome my friend
Sis, as always, life interferes with intentions and thus, I just had an opportunity to view your Thanksgiving blog. I did get an opportunity to send out greetings for Thanksgiving to family and friends but wanted to relay that I am thankful that all six of our siblings are still with us and hopefully I will have a chance to see all before the Lord makes a decision to change that! Love you.
