Long before the pharmaceutical companies started to produce drugs, our ancestors used herbs and food to treat various ailments. I remember my grandmother making dandelion tea to treat cold symptoms and for chest congestion, we would be rubbed down with Vics Vapor rub, sliced onion would be placed on our chest and wrapped with a cloth binder. The following morning the congestion would be gone. Once a month, I detox my body by placing sliced onions on the soles of my feet, hold them there with socks and retire for the night. By morning the onions are withered from drawing toxins out of my body.

In today’s world of fast foods and fix quick boxed meals, and GMO’s, most of us don’t get the nutrition found in whole foods. As well despite the knowledge that is readily available on the internet many people are unaware of the healing properties found in food. My goal is to enlighten you of a few fruits and vegetables that in certain combination help with illnesses and conditions.

We have all experienced the common cold, the combination of carrots, pineapple, ginger, and garlic is one way to treat it. You don’t need a juicer; a blender will do. Cut up two carrots, a half pineapple, two medium pieces of ginger root and 4 cloves of garlic. Blend them together and drink it at least twice a day until cold symptoms subside. Also, to help make ginger tea, boil a large root of ginger in water for 30 minutes. Drink several times a day as tea with honey and lemon added. If you develop a headache cut up an apple, a cucumber, a handful of kale, ginger, and celery, blend together and drink it to alleviate it.

High blood pressure is prominent in our society, to help control it blend together a large beet, apple, celery, cucumber and a large piece of ginger root, drink daily. Hear me loud and clear on this, if you are taking a blood pressure medication, do not stop taking it. However, by adding this natural remedy, your blood pressure may be lowered thus the possibility of lowering your dose of medication.

So much is happening in our world today that cause symptoms of nervousness, depression, and stress. To help alleviate nervousness, cut up 2 carrot sticks, celery, and a pomegranate (leave the seeds), blend and drink it daily. Blend together a carrot, apple, handful of spinach, and a large beet to help with depression and drink daily. Feeling stressed out? Combine, a banana, five strawberries, and a pear and drink daily.

Arthritis is a condition that we develop as we age, to help alleviate it blend together, a stick of carrot, a stick of celery, 1/2 pineapple and the juice of a lemon, and drink daily. Another natural treatment is gin and white raisins. Now, I understand that some of you don’t drink, however gin was used as a medicine first before being distilled and sold as alcohol. Pour into a glass bowl the white raisins, cover them with the gin and let them sit until all the gin is absorbed by the raisins. Store the raisins in a glass jar or container, eat seven raisins daily. In about two weeks, you will start to feel relief of your arthritic pain.

For indigestion, cut up a half pineapple, 2 carrot sticks and blend with the juice of a lemon and a handful of mint. When you don’t get enough fiber in your diet or drink enough water, you may experience constipation. To alleviate it naturally, blend together 2 carrot sticks, an apple, and half of a fresh cabbage, drink as needed to relieve constipation. To relieve discomfort from ulcers, blend a half cabbage, 2 sticks of celery, and a carrot stick. Drink daily or as needed.

If you are diabetic, blend together, 2 carrot sticks, a handful of spinach, and a stick of celery, drink this daily to help manage your diabetes.

I chose just a few common diseases and conditions we experience to share with you some natural ways to help manage them. By no means stop taking any medication that you are currently on, these natural blends are ways to assist you in managing your disease process.

Oh, and one more thing, be sure to use whole fruits and vegetables and not those that have been genetically modified, (GMO’s). Stay healthy, stay safe, and try to incorporate ways to manage your health naturally. One thing is for sure, there are no side effects.

Until next time,

Peace, Love, and Blessings 💖
