Going barefoot may help you feel foot loose and fancy free but doing so can cause foot damage. Without shoes your feet have little support, and your feet are exposed to possible injury from things on the ground. Sharp objects like rocks and glass can cut your feet or nails and splinters can become embedded in the skin. Going barefoot can cause the development of plantar warts, painful growths which develop on the soles of your feet. Over time going barefoot can cause changes in the shape of your feet. This can lead to issues with balance, mobility, and pain in your feet, ankles, and back.

High heels make your legs look fantastic, but as women we know they can be painful to wear. High heels force your toes into an unnatural position and put pressure on the balls of your feet. That may lead to bunions, hammertoes, and other deformities. It can also result in chronic pain and nerve damage. To protect your feet, limit the amount of time you wear high heels. Choose shoes with a wide toe box and low heel.

Wearing shoes without socks can greatly affect your feet. Without socks to absorb the sweat moisture can build up and lead to growth of bacteria. This can lead to foot odor, athlete’s feet and other problems. As well socks protect your feet from chafing and friction. Without them you can develop blisters, calluses, and other foot problems.

Your feet deserve a break every so often. Wearing the same shoes every day and standing for long periods of time can lead to plantar fasciitis, and heel pain. Take some time to elevate your feet, stretch them out, and massage any sore areas.

For all you runners out there be sure to replace your running shoes, after a while they lose support and cushioning. That may lead to issues like aches, pain, blisters and injury. Worn out running shoes cannot provide the level of shock absorption which leads your feet exposed to impact. The loss of cushion can cause your feet to roll inward more which puts strain on your ankles, knees and hips.

Wearing shoes that don’t fit well can have major impact on your feet. Wearing shoes that are too tight can cause bunions, corns, and calluses. It can also cause the bones in your feet to shift leading to pain and discomfort. Wearing loose fitting shoes constantly can put you at risk for sprains and other injuries. Your feet can slide inside loose shoes which leads to instability. Shop for a shoe that fits snugly but not too tight. Also be sure to break them in before wearing them for extended periods of time.

Many different habits can ruin your feet; it is important to be aware of them to keep your feet healthy. Take some time to pay attention to and take care of your feet to keep them healthy and happy for years to come.

Until next time

Peace, Love, and Blessings❤️
