INGREDIENTS
CHICKEN:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- vegetable oil for frying
HOT HONEY SAUCE
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more to taste)
ASSEMBLY:
- 4 brioche buns
- 8 pickle slices
- 1 cup coleslaw
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Pound chicken breast to an even thickness of 1/2 inch. Soak in buttermilk for 15 minutes.
- In a shallow dish, mix flour with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F.
- Dredge each piece of chicken in the seasoned flour, shaking off excess.
- Fry chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
- For the hot honey sauce, combine honey, hot sauce, butter, and cayenne in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until butter is melted and sauce is well combined.
- Brush each piece of chicken generously with the hot honey sauce.
- Lightly toast the brioche buns.
- Assemble sandwiches: Place a piece of chicken on the bottom bun, top it with pickles and coleslaw, and cover it with the top of the bun.
