This fairly inexpensive dessert will have your family feeling special. In 25 minutes, you can have a restaurant-quality dessert.

Prep Time: 25 minutes total (15-minute bake time)

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 fresh pears or 8 canned pear halves
  • water, sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp. orange liqueur, optional
  • 6-8 chocolate-covered mints
  • grapes or walnut halves for garnish

PREPARATION

  1. If using fresh pears, cook in water with sugar until soft to the touch. Drain well.
  2. Drain canned pears well (if using). Place pears on an ovenproof plate or dish. Sprinkle with liquor, if used. Put one chocolate-covered mint on top of each pear half.
  3. Broil or bake the pears in the oven at 375℉ to 400℉ for 10 to 15 minutes, until the chocolate has melted.
  4. Remove from the oven. Garnish with grapes or walnut halves.
