Want a set it and forget it recipe? This is it!!! You will definitely not be disappointed in the flavor.
Prep time: 5 minutes Cook time 6 hours Serves 6 to 8
INGREDIENTS
3 to 4 pound pork roast ( you could also use beef)
2 tablespoons dried oregano
2 tablespoons dried basil
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons garlic, minced
1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce2/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
DIRECTIONS
- Place the roast in the inner pot of a slow cooker
2. In a medium bowl, combine the oregano, basil, pepper, salt, garlic, honey, soy sauce, Parmesan cheese, and mix well.
3. Pour the sauce over the roast
4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
5. Remove the roast from the slow cooker, reserving the liquid. Shred the meat.
6. Add the reserved cooking liquid to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce is reduced and thickened.
7. Pour the sauce over the meat and serve.
Please note, the sauce is not burned. The honey and herbs form a crust on top portion of the roast.
