While we are glued to our televisions enthralled by the latest report on the trial of Donald Trump and his codefendants, BRICS is buying land in the United States and other Countries. No, I did not misspell the word bricks. BRICS is an antonym that is rarely mentioned on any major TV network. Most of you are unaware of this conglomerate of Countries buying land and water in the United States, particularly in the Midwest and Western states.
Previously known as BRIC, before South Africa joined them in 2010, the Countries of Brazil, India, Russia, China, and South Africa have formed a conglomerate that collaborates on economic, political, and strategic issues globally. These Countries have large populations, rapid economic growth, and increasing global influence.
Of course, you would have to have been living under a rock to not know that the United States is deeply indebted to China. But back to BRICS, the leaders of these countries meet annually to discuss both common interests and challenges. Topics focus on trade and investment, development of infrastructure, energy, climate change, and global government reform.
BRICS has its own development bank, the New Development Bank (NDB), which provides financial assistance for infrastructure and development projects in member countries and other emerging economies.
In 2013, China’s WH Group, formerly known as Shuanghui International Holdings, bought Smithfield Foods, a major American pork producer and processor. Many of you eat their bacon and other pork products. WH Group is a Chinese meat processing company that with the acquisition of Smithfield Foods was one of the largest Chinese takeovers of a U.S. company at the time.
Smithfield Foods remains headquartered in the U.S. and operates as a subsidiary of WH Group. A major player in the American pork industry, WH Group continues to distribute Smithfield products in the United States and internationally.
There is no doubt in my mind that BRICS will continue to purchase land and businesses in the United States and on a global level. Land and water purchases by foreign entities can be sensitive issues and can vary widely by state and region.
My purpose for discussing BRICS today is to inform you of this conglomerate of Countries and how they are operating around the world to acquire land, water, and businesses. With those acquisitions, BRICS will continue to have global influence and economic growth.
I for one will continue to watch what is happening with BRICS and you may want to do the same.
Peace, Love, and Blessings💖
