The holidays are here, that means parties, family and friend get togethers and other celebratory occasions. All the food and drinks we will consume in the next few weeks may cause bloating. In addition, if you will be traveling that can cause bloating, inflammation, and back up in your digestive system. So instead of reaching for Tums, Mylanta, and other over the counter medicines, try this quick and easy drink. It is made of ginger, chia seeds, grapefruit, and lemon, natural ingredients that can help you feel better quickly.

Before disclosing the recipe, I would like to share with you some information about the ingredients. Chia seeds are a great source of fiber, these tiny seeds swell up to create a gel. The gel cleanses your digestive system and keeps you feeling full, thus preventing overeating. They are also a prebiotic keeping good bacteria in your gut.

Lemons are your friend if you want to detox your body quickly. Lemon juice functions like our digestive enzymes, aiding digestion and assisting the liver to flush out toxins. As well lemons act as a mild diuretic which reduces water retention and bloating.

Some of us use food to relieve stress, grapefruit which contains tryptophan, helps to take the edge off and promote calmness. It also hydrates your body, which is ideal for a smooth digestive system.

Ginger works to speed up emptying of your stomach and relieves discomfort, keeping your digestion on track. Ginger also acts as a pain reliever.

The blend of all of these natural ingredients manages holiday tummy problems, allowing you to enjoy the holiday season. So here is the recipe.
